Eagles Softball strikes down AA Warriors

The Alta-Aurelia Warriors came to town to meet the Eagles at Greenwood park last Tuesday. Where the two teams squared off in an early evening varsity matchup.

The Eagles exploded into the lead in the 1st, leaving the warriors stunned and scoreless, and down by 4 at the top of the 2nd. The Warriors didn’t fare much better in the 2nd either, as the Eagles were still fired up, and rounded the bases twice more. In both innings, the Eagles defense kept the Warriors from making even one trip around the diamond.

In the 3rd the Warriors turned the tables on the Eagles, ramping up their offense while maintaining a strong defense, and scoring 3 to none for the Eagles. Both teams played heavy defense through the 4th, and neither got back on the board. And the 5th and the 6th were the same story.

Going into the 7th the Eagles had double the Warriors’ 3, and that was a hill too steep for Alta-Aurelia to climb, though they did scratch one more notch on the board. The Eagles won, 6 to 4.

Brooklyn Osborne pitched a phenomenal game, tossing through all 7 innings, and striking out 10 while giving up only 1 stolen base. Nadia Kaiser was the leading Eagles batter, getting 2 hits, 1 run, 2 RBI’s, and a triple.
