Some new meals will be on the menu in the coming 2022-23 school year. Some of the new treats include:
Breakfast
Breakfast “uncrustables”: a sealed, crustless sandwich filled with egg, sausage and cheese.
Breakfast bagel: half a bagel topped with sausage, egg and cheese.
Apple bites – miniature apple filled donut style pastries.
Lunch
Rattlesnake bowls: similar to a walking taco with frito chips, but filled with seasoned chicken, instead of beef.
Fried rice: classic fried rice, seasoned and mixed with egg, peas, and carrots.
Rice with queso: rice with cheese sauce.
Cowboy cavatini: a Mexican style dish of baked pasta and hamburger.
Pizza Bake: an Italian style dish similar to a lasagna but with pepperoni as well as hamburger.
Menus for special events such as the Iowa/Iowa State tailgate lunch will be revealed at a later date. And when menu items are unavailable substitutions may be made. So be sure to look out for future updates!
