Dustin Dawson is Eagle Grove’s Latest Eagle Scout

The latest in a long list of Eagle Scouts to come out of Eagle Grove, coached and guided to the accomplishment (which in the rest of the world is much less rarely achieved) by local Scoutmasters Rick Dawson and Craig Voss, is Rick's son Dustin Dawson. A senior classman at Eagle Grove High School, Dustin is active in athletics as well as in scouting.

To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Dustin earned 41 badges and 5 Eagle Palms, spent 74 nights camping, hiked 218 miles, and performed 360 hours of service work, according to Voss. Among the work Dustin has done for the community is his Eagle Project, installing a sheltered sign-board at the Eagle Grove end of the Three Rivers Trail, and cleaning up the trailhead of years of litter, as was reported on in this paper previously, and more in depth.
