In the middle of the month Amy Asherl took the middle school students fishing, with 5th & 6th Graders fishing at Fish Pond Park on Thursday, September 15th, and 7th & 8th Grade fishing on Friday, September 16th at Lake Cornelia. Students also worked on an art project called Fish People.
"WHEW" Asherl posted to Facebook during the 5th & 6th grade fishing trip, "we may have left 4-5 bobbers in the middle of Fishpond, one stuck in a tree, but we got dirty, a little wet, saved a turtle, fed some fish breakfast and lunch and we also CAUGHT some fish! Hopefully the kids had fun and realize there is a reason it’s called fishing and not catching!"
Saturday, Asherl was back on Facebook posting, "Holy buckets! We caught a TON of fish on Friday at Lake Cornelia! 7th and 8th graders also got the opportunity to kayak! We again got dirty, wet (some of us more than we should have), but there were a TON of smiles, laughter, and hopefully fun had by all!!"
It looks to us like a great time was had by all… except maybe the fish, and that turtle!
