The Eagle girls varsity volleyball team made the trek to North Iowa Community in Buffalo Center last Monday to face off against the Bison for four sets in a regular season evening matchup.
The Bison took the first and second sets with nearly identical scores of 25 to 16 in the first and 25 to 17 in the second. The third set was when the Eagles took command for a set, just about reversing that spread with a score of 25 to 19. But alas, in the fourth and final set the worm turned yet again, and the score was 25 to win again, for the Bison, to the Eagles 11. The Bison taking the match 3 to 1.
Leading Eagles were sophomore Tarissa Middleton, junior Maddison Kaier, Junior Chloe Steil, and senior Braxton Steil. Middleton led in digs with 16 total, as well as in kills with 1.5. l. Kaiser led in assists, with 10 in total. Steil led in attacks, with 3.3. And Steil led in blocks, with 2.
The next scheduled game for the Eagles was against Newman Catholic at Newman Catholic High in Mason City, at 7:00 pm.
