Steve Simonin, President and CEO of Iowa Specialty Hospitals, was honored at the annual business meeting of the Iowa Rural Health Association with the annual , given for rural health leadership.
Each year, the award is presented to a leader who has, according to a Facebook post by the hospital chain, "demonstrated successful activism for improving rural health, and a commitment to community service." During the ceremony, presenters noted that Simonin had, in his 26 years leading a network of clinics across North and and Central Iowa, as well as the hospitals of Wright County, "done just that".
On Facebook, Simonin's staff applauded his win, saying, "on behalf of everyone at Iowa Specialty Hospitals & Clinics, we are so proud of you and thank you for doing such a wonderful job steering our ship!"
