The Eagles hosted Paton Churdan in their regular season finale on Thursday the 13th, and it was a horror show for the Rockets. At the start of play, the Eagles took to the floor with a 1-16 and 1-7 record in the Top of Iowa West, with the Rockets being 1-18 and 0-8 in the Rolling Valley Conference.

The Rockets struggled but were unable to overcome the Eagles in any of the three sets played. The most compelling set was the first, in which Eagle Grove overwhelmed Paton Churdan with a score of 25 to 17. The following sets were closer, with the Eagles triumphing by a spread of 6 in the second and 5 in the third, leading 25 to 19 and 25 to 20 respectively.
Maddison Kaiser was the clear MVP with the lead in assists at 11, the team high in aces at 5, and 5 kills. But Tarissa Middleton had the lead in kills with 6. And Braxton Steil matched Maddison Kaiser's 5 kills while leading in digs with 9. And Suzi Kaiser led in blocks with 5.
The game was also Staff Appreciation night, showing the appreciation of the community to all the staff of the Eagle Grove Community School District, with many prizes offered by donors for staff to win. Which made the win all the sweeter.
