Lady Eagles BB for the win over St. Edmonds!

It's been a long, hard road to the first win of the season for the Eagles girls varsity basketball team, but they've managed to notch up their first win of the season. And did they ever win!

In the first period, The Gaels hit the floorboards on the Eagles' home turf at Eagle Grove Elementary hard. And at first the Eagles were a little bit spun around. That period ended with the Gaels over the Eagles by eight, with a score of 11 to three.

As the second period got going, it became clear that the Lady Eagles weren't going to allow that to happen anymore! The period was a serious back and forth tug of war, with both teams playing hard and scoring almost evenly. Almost: but Eagle Grove beat St. Edmond's 13 points by one!

Going into the second, the score stood at 24-17, with the Gaels in the lead. But the Eagles quickly showed the visitors that the home team was looking to even the score that period. And that is exactly what they did! After notching 15 points in the third to St. Ed's eight.

And so the fourth period began as anybody's game, 32 to 32, may the best girls win! It didn't take long for the Eagles to show that on that court, on that night, victory definitely would be theirs at last! And the Lady Eagles proceeded to dominate the Gaels to a decisive 20-7 final period, clinching their first win of the season, 52-39.

The leading ladies for the night were Eagle Grove's double sister act, Nadia and Maddison Kaiser, and Braxton and Chloe Steil.
