The Top of Iowa West revealed their picks for their First and Second All Conference teams for both boys and girls basketball on Sunday.
Making the cut for the Top of Iowa West First All-Conference team from Eagle Grove this year is junior forward Drake Canavan. Canavan joins Kyan Jones of North Union,
Drew Britson of Garner Hayfield Ventura, Lance Helming of Lake Mills, Denton Kingland and Aiden Stensrud of Lake Mills, and Rylan Barnes of West Hancock on the list. Canavan averaged 16.1 in PPG, which qualified him for 5th place in the conference for the season. Canavan also averaged 2.2 in APG, and 1.8 in SPG, as well as 7.9 in RPG, and .9 in BPG.
Jaxon Morris, a sophomore guard, is an honorable mention, along with Carter Schwab of Bishop Garrigan, Logan Odegaard of North Union, Tyreon Franklin of Belmond-Klemme, Connor Sopko of Forest City, Aiden Hawe of Garner Hayfield Ventura, Logan Bacon of Lake Mills, Hayden Meinders of North Iowa, and Rhett Eisenman of West Hancock. Morris averaged 14.1 in PPG, 4.8 in RPG, 2.4 in SPG, and 2.8 in APG. All while shooting 33.6% from the 3 point zone, and 40% from the field.
Junior forward Nadia Kaiser is an honorable mention, joining Zoe Montag of Bishop Garrigan,Olivia Von Bank of North Union, Jaden Jerome of Forest City, Jenna Pringnitz of Garner Hayfield Ventura, Ella Stene of Lake Mills, Ashlyn Bechler of North Iowa, Maddie Bruggeman of West Hancock, and Allison Barrus of Belmond-Klemme. Kaiser led the girls team in PPG at 8.3, as well as RPG at .7, and BPG at .7. Meanwhile, she also managed to average 1.5 in APG, 1 ins SPG, and shooting 19.1% from the three point zone, and 33% from the field.
