This year multiple wrestlers from the Eagle Grove Wrestling Club competed at many State and National Tournaments with many making the podium at these tournaments.
The first National tournament was Yellowjacket Nationals held in Rochester Minnesota on December 4th where Jack Schreiber competed and went 0-2 on the day.
On December 11th the Eagle Grove Youth Wrestling dual team competed in a 5 team dual in Garner where the team took home 1st place going 4-0 on the day
On December 18th we had 7 wrestlers compete at Hawkeye Nationals in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Those competing were Kysen Sisson, Tucker Taylor, Kylar Sisson who placed 5th, Jack Schreiber who placed 5th, Thane Taylor, Keegan Eisentrager, Andrew Vaughn who placed 5th, and Ethan Schreiber who placed 3rd.
The following day on December 19th the team once again competed in a team dual, this time against 8 teams in Story City. The team once again went 4-0 and took home first place.
On January 29th we had multiple wrestlers compete for a state title at the Iowa/USA State wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Those Competing were:
14U 80 – Ethan Schreiber, 14U 102 – Andrew Vaughn, 14U 102 – Keegan Eisentrager, 12U 67 – Tucker Taylor, 12U 92 – Jack Schreiber who placed 4th, 12U 98 – Thane Taylor, 12U 117 – Easton Buhr – 3rd
On February 5th we had 20 wrestlers compete at Districts in Humboldt Iowa hoping to punch their ticket to the AAU State. The top 4 at each weight qualify for State. In total 11 qualified for the State Tournament:
3rd and 4th Grade: A54 – Antonio Colorado, A74 – Gavin Growth.
5th and 6th Grade: B70 – Tucker Taylor – 2nd Place, B82 – Kylar Sisson – 4th Place, B86 – Marcus Hull, B90- Jack Schreiber – 3rd Place, B90 – Sawyer Schmauss, B98 – Andrew Vaughn – 3rd Place, B98 – Joshua Steig, B103 – Thane Taylor, B108 – Keegan Eisentrager – 2nd, B114 – Colson Schafer – 2nd, B114 – Easton Buhr, B180 – Chase Harle – 2nd, and B215 – Christian Schild – 1st.
7th and 8th Grade: C80 – Ethan Schreiber – 2nd, C110 – Jackson Babcock, C115 – Dylan Terwilliger, C115 – Hunter Waldo-Martinez – 3rd, C135 – Arturo Reyna-Salazar – 1st
Once those 11 wrestlers got to AAU state held at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, they competed with the best of the best and won quite a few matches. Results from AAU State are:

The Following Weekend on March 4th and 5th it was time for the younger kids to have their chance at a State title. We had 7 kids wrestle at AAU Super PeeWee State in Waterloo Iowa. Those wrestlers were:
Eli Babcock who went 4-2, reaching the Semifinals before losing his first match in a close battle 5-3 before coming back and placing 4th in his bracket.
Abram Vrba who went 3-3 and also reached the semifinals of his bracket, also losing a close match 6-5 in that semifinal, and then coming back and placing 6th in his bracket.
Maddox Link who went 1-2 on the day. Tatum Schmauss who went 0-2 on the day. Kysen Sisson who went 1-2. Chase Babcock went 2-2. Beau Brandow went 1-2.
That Same weekend we had 3 girls from the Middle School Wrestling team compete at Girls AAU State in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Those that competed were:
Catherine Orozco – 0-2. Janlis Nunez – 1-2. Nicole Menke – 0-2.
Also the same weekend we had a group of kids compete at district duals down in Indianola Iowa. District Duals is where the top kids from each district form a dual team to compete against the other districts in the state. Those competing for the North Central District Dual team were Tucker Taylor, Kylar Sisson, Colson Schafer, Chase Harle, Christian Schild, Ethan Schreiber, and Hunter Waldo-Martinez.
