Family Movie Night brings movie multiplex experience to Eagle Grove

The Eagle Grove Elementary School transformed itself into a cinema multiplex last Thursday to raise funds for school events.

Showing in each "cinema" were one of four family friendly films, Light Year, Inside Out, Space Jam, A New Legacy, and Moana. And the price of admission was as much, or as little as you cared to give.

Just past the ticket booth at the doorway into the Elementary School were two concession stands, offering home baked goods, snacks, bottled water and, of course, popcorn. And there were no high movie theater prices – everything was just one dollar!

It was a pretty busy night at the Elementary multiplex, and each film was well attended. Everything seemed to go off without a hitch, and the part movie theater, part family picnic grounds seating arrangements made for wholesome family fun for everyone.

The facilities of the school lent themselves easily to the defacto multiplex arrangement, and for a town currently without its own movie theater, gave the families a chance to have movie night close to home. Here's hoping that there are many more family movie nights to come!
