Lions Club spaghetti dinner is the final feast of a fattening weekend

This past weekend was one of being well fed for good causes here in Eagle Grove. And the Lion's club finished up the feasts with a spaghetti dinner at Memorial Hall, with the proceeds supporting "children and adults in need of eye exams and glasses, a diabetes camp, and anything else our community needs," said event organizer Becky Wachowiak.

At just $10 for adults, and $5 for kids 12 and under with takeout available, it was a great deal, and portions were hearty.

Members of the Scouts USA troops were on hand to offer their assistance as well. Scouts provided door service for those with their hands full, and served meals both to those who chose to dine in, as well as preparing meals to go.

Everything was done to perfection. The Pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauce was neither too sweet nor too tart, and the bread sticks were light and chewy, just as they should be. Look out, Olive Garden!

"We really enjoy getting together to provide this meal," said Wachowiak. "We want to thank everybody for supporting us."
