The Wright County boys soccer team competed against six other teams at the Postville Tournament on April 1st. They defeated the Postville Pirates in a tight, one to nothing game. And they defeated Cascade 2-1. This left the team in 5th place in the tournament. However they left the tournament in a three way tie for best season record, matching New Hampton and Cascade with a 2-1 record, beat only by Aplington-Parkersburg with a 3-0 record.
Wright County's leading players in the contest with Postville were junior Everardo Santiz who led in goals and shots on goal with one each, and sophomore Jose Alfaro, who led in saves with 4. In the contest with Cascade, Brian Duran led in goals, shots on goal, and assists with 1 goal, 2 shots on goal, and an assist. And Alfaro led on saves again, with another 4.
