Eagles Take 4th in Bulldog Girls’ Relays

The Lady Eagles JV track team jaunted up Hwy 69 for the hour and a half trip to the Lake Mills Sports Complex for the Bulldog Girls' Relays, to compete against a dozen other teams, and would earn a strong fourth place standing by the end of the event. Also competing (in order of finish) were Belmond-Klemme in 1st, Central Springs, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Garner Hayfield Ventura in 5th, Lake Mills, Newman Catholic, Osage, Riceville, Rockford, Saint Ansgar, West Bend-Mallard, and West Hancock.

In the dashes, junior Calli Steil represented the Eagles on the leaderboard in the 100 meter with a finish of 15.64, which was good for 5th place. In the 200 meter dash, Froshes Kameya Hoop and Kendra Schild made the leaderboard, with Hoop taking 7th with a time of 32.39, and Schild taking 13th with a finish of 34.01.

And in the shorter relays, the Eagles performed admirably! First the gals took 5th in a close run off in the 4×100 that saw the top half of the field finish within 2.2 seconds of each other, running the relay in just 1:02.80, while Lake 1:00.61 was good for 1st for Lake Mills. Then the Lady Eagles took second in the 4×200, with a time of 2:11.79, just under four seconds off Central Springs' winning time of 2.07.84.
