In a Monday evening game to start the Eagles hosted the Forest City Indians at Greenwood Park. At first the game was a standoff, with neither team putting a scratch on the scoreboard in either of the first two innings.
Then for a couple of innings, it was a bit of a tug of war. In the third inning the Eagles managed to put two notches on the board, taking the lead. But the Indians weren't about to take that lying down, and in the fifth they put up two of their own.
That was when the Eagles decided to take control and hold it. Scoring two more runs in the fifth inning, the Eagles defense then held the Indians off home base for the rest of the game. And so victory was theirs 4 to 2, Eagle Grove.
Junior Jake Jeske managed a 1.0 batting average with two hits, one run, one RBI, a double, and a stolen base. Senior Jordan Morris chalked up an RBI as well. Pitching two innings, Senior Cayden Schultz pitched two innings, while junior Jake Jeske pitched four. Schultz managed a total of five strikeouts, while Jeske doubled that number with ten.
