Eagles start winning right off the bat!

In the team's baseball season opener in Gilmore City, the Eagles faced off against the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines for an evening match, played last Monday.

Both teams took their time getting fully into gear, neither scoring at all in the first three innings. And then the Eagles got it going, putting the first point on the board in the fourth inning. In the fifth inning both teams scored.

From there on out, however, the Eagles denied the Wolverines the home plate for the rest of the game. And they got one runner of their own around the bases in both the sixth and seventh innings, clinching their season opener win, 3 to 1, Eagle Grove.

Leading Eagles were senior Cayden Schultz, with a batting average of .500, with two hits, two runs, two doubles, and three stolen bases. And, junior Jake Jeske pitched the entire game, earning 13 strikeouts.
