There will be an ice cream social hosted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church an hour earlier, at 6:30 p.m. Remember to bring your own chairs and blankets. See the article elsewhere in this issue for more information.

Lake Cornelia

The most local events for Eagle Grove and Clarion are at Lake Cornelia (that is, until the Wright County Fair later in July). The Celebration at the Lake festivities start on Friday night, June 30th, with the Lighted Boat Parade circling the lake starting at 9:00 p.m. Saturday morning, July 1st starts with a pancake breakfast by Chris Cakes from 8:00 a.m. until; 10:00 a.m. One ticket serves five people, and additional meals are $6.00 each. Kids games will follow the pancakes, with prizes for all participants. At 7:00 p.m. the decorated boat parade begins. This year's theme is Memorable Decades. No boat is too small to enter, and there will be a goody bag of prizes for every boat that enters. Fireworks over the lake (shot from barges) will begin at dusk! Please note that the northeast corner of the lake will be blocked off for public safety, and the fireworks barges will be marked with flashing buoys – stay clear of the barge for safety! For more information, to volunteer or sign up, contact Lavon Marshall at (515) 851-0790.

Meservey

Fireworks at dark at City Park on Saturday July 1st cap off a day of events including a Kiddie Parade and a Pancake Breakfast in Meservey.
