Ladies!
I am wanting to share the details of our upcoming 100+ Women Who Care meeting here in Eagle Grove. You may have heard of our group or seen an article in the Eagle Grove Eagle newspaper. Our latest recipient was Lance Hennigar. I know you ladies are busy, but hear me out, I think this organization is something you'd be happy and proud to partake in.
We have quarterly meetings in January, April, July and October. You do NOT need to be present to participate. You can participate remotely if attending doesn't work in your schedule. The meetings are on the last Wednesday of the month, at Rails starting at 6:00pm. The meetings are short and impactful, usually lasting 30- 45 minutes but many of us stay after and enjoy a drink or food together. Come check us out. No obligation.
How our group works is we nominate an Eagle Grove community member/family that is going through a tough time (medically, financially etc) whom we feel would be worthy of our support. We then randomly draw out 3 names, discuss their situations and then privately vote for our person of choice. We then announce the recipient and we try to contact that person/family to let them know they've been chosen for our donations. Members then write their checks to that recipient (or give cash) and if the recipient is able to join us, we take a group picture for anyone that wants to be included in the picture. For those that couldn't attend, they drop off their donations within the week. Once all the money has been collected, I give it to the recipient, who is usually moved to tears with gratitude.
Being a member of our group is easy. You can be a single member and pledge to donate $100 every quarter to the recipient, or you can be on a team of 2, 3 or 4 (each member splitting the $100 amongst the team and each paying only $25-$50 quarterly depending on the size of the team).
At our last meeting in January, in addition to our monetary donations, we have selected THE LAZY J RANCH to be our nonprofit organization to help out at this upcoming April meeting. We're asking everyone to bring a small cash amount or a Bomgaars gift card to our April meeting (or drop off at Sampson Accounting) to help the ranch with their expenses. https://www.lazyjrescueranch. org/support-us
Since our inaugural meeting in July 2021, our Eagle Grove 100 Women Who Care group has donated $38,750 to 11 different recipients in the Eagle Grove community. We understand how busy everyone's lives are but your small participation helps make a huge impact on our community members going through a rough situation that none of us would want to be in ourselves. Let me know if you have any questions.
Bring a friend and we hope to see you at this upcoming meeting on April 24th at 6:00pm at Rails!
