Fans packed into West Bend-Mallard’s tiny gym on Monday night for a non-conference girls’ basketball game between the undefeated Wolverines and the 1-6 Eagles. Led by their upperclassmen, the Wolverines would defeat EG 61-18. Three of the home team’s seniors scored in double digits, and freshman guard Taytum Edwards’ 10 points led the Eagles.
Taytum showed off her smooth jumper in the 1st quarter, and Myka Anderson drilled a three. Kendra Schild had an early bucket, but found herself in foul trouble and was forced to the bench.
In the 2nd quarter, Myah Edwards gobbled up an offensive rebound and found Taytum open for three. Later, Taytum banked in a 15-footer, but the Wolverine sharpshooters couldn’t miss. WB-M led 34-13 at the half.
Taytum drained a second three-pointer late in the game, and Myka Anderson subbed in and hit a contested shot for EG’s last two points.
Myka finished with six points and three steals. Myah had seven rebounds, two steals, and a block. Schild added two points and three rebounds.
