Terwilliger Takes Bronze At Conference

On Saturday, 14 schools from across the Top of Iowa Conference met in Saint Ansgar for their annual boys conference wrestling tournament. 

Eagle Grove placed 11th with 73 team points. Nashua Plainfield (249.5) took the team title, followed by Lake Mills (217), Osage (214), and Central Springs (191.5).

2023-24 state qualifier Dylan Terwilliger was Eagle Grove’s top place winner. The sophomore 120-pounder won by fall in the consolation semifinals and again in the 3rd place match to bring home bronze. 

Hayden Schafer lost a close bout in the consolation semifinals, but bounced back with a 17-2 technical fall victory in his final match. Schafer defeated Ty Voigt of Osage and earned 5th place at 157 lbs. He now holds a 31-7 season record.  

Jayden Kreitlow pinned Max Merrill of North Union for 5th place at 175, and Hunter Waldo-Martinez took 6th at 126. 

Jesus Baez (6th place – 285), Ethan Schreiber (7th place – 106), and Andrew Orozco (8th place – 113) also placed for the Eagles.
