JEWELL, Iowa – Seven students from Robert Blue Middle School participated in the Middles & Music Honor Band on Saturday, Feb. 1, at South Hamilton Schools, joining musicians from across Iowa for a day of rehearsals and performance.

The honor band event provided students with the opportunity to collaborate with fellow young musicians and learn from experienced directors.

The students—Katelynn Madson, Wyntr Crotts, Liliana Rutledge, Adalie Alt, Ingrid Pull, Yarely Guatemala Mendez, and Nick Willard—spent the day playing alongside their peers, refining their musical skills, and preparing for an evening concert to show off the results of their hard work.

“They did an awesome job playing all day with students from around Iowa, and seemed to have a pretty good time,” said music teacher Elizabeth Schwake.
