Eagles Find Success At Spring Classic

On March 15, over 1,200 Special Olympians and Unified partners from across the state met for the Special Olympics Iowa Spring Classic. Several Eagle Grove athletes qualified for the much-anticipated event and earned medals for their achievements. 

5 on 5 and 3 on 3 basketball teams played at the University of Iowa Field House in Iowa City. The basketball skills competitions were held at the GreenState Family Fieldhouse nearby in Coralville.

The purple and gold were well represented and the Olympians collected a slew of individual and team medals in Johnson County. Jahxidel Cintron Rosado (3rd place), Naidelyn Garcia (1st place), Michelle Garrett (5th place), and Jayden Armstead (2nd place) all brought hardware back to Eagle Grove. Rosa Vasquez Reyes, Darci Anderson, and Parker Poppen also won gold medals in their respective skills challenges. The 3 on 3 elementary team placed 2nd overall, and the middle school 3 on 3 squad took bronze.
