Last Thursday, three boys track and field athletes qualified for and represented Eagle Grove at the IATC Indoor Championships held at Lied Recreation Center in Ames.
Junior high jumper Syrus Willard had success on his first two heights, but was unable to clear 5’11”. His highest jump of 5’7” earned him 18th place.
Senior Josh Miller also high jumped for the purple and gold. His jump of 5’11” was good enough for 8th place overall in 2A.
Leelan Spencer ran his fastest time ever in the 60m dash 2A prelims. The junior finished in 7.5 seconds for 36th place overall.
After the meet, Coach Ben Demuth called the showing “a good effort overall by these guys.”
