The EGHS girls golf team had their first meet of the year last Friday in Eagle Grove. Two Top of Iowa-West opponents visited Eagle Grove Golf Course for nine holes of fierce competition.
EGHS freshman Azlyn Amonson shot a 52 in her first varsity golf meet to tie for fourth place overall. Senior Kennedy Thacker also shot a 52, while Piper Willard (11th/57) and Salem Willard (16th/61) would round out the scoring for the Eagles.
Caitlin Christopher (64) and Lily Locke (77) also golfed for the purple and gold.
Garner-Hayfield-Ventura senior Audrey Overgaard was the medalist with a score of 42. The Cardinals had the two lowest scores of the triangular and finished with a winning score of 197. Forest City placed second with 215 team points, followed closely by the Eagles with 222.
