EAGLE GROVE, Iowa — Although the new local discounts store has been in a soft opening status for weeks, Wright County Iowa Discounts officially opened its doors Friday as proud members of the Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting at its location on Country Lane Circle, right across the parking lot from Bomgaars. The event, held at 4 p.m. on Friday, welcomed the public and included a giveaway of three $50 in-store credit vouchers.

Opened by Terry and Jamie Gump of Goldfield, the store offers discounted household goods, clothing, tools, snacks, pet supplies, and electronics—sourced from returns, overstock, and shelf-pulls from major retailers.

“We wanted to offer a local option that makes everyday essentials and name-brand items more affordable,” Terry Gump said. Jamie Gump added, “If you can buy brand-name shoes for $10 instead of $50, that’s money that can go toward necessities.”

The store has already drawn praise from locals for its affordability and wide selection.
