Twelve area high schools traveled to Pocahontas last Friday night for a windy evening on the track. Sophomore thrower Gavin Pedersen had one of the best performances of his career for a top-3 finish in the discus, and speedy junior Leelan Spencer left Poky with silver in the Class A 100 to go along with a bronze medal in the 4×4.
The EGHS boys team claimed 5th place in Class A after scoring 69 team points. Webster City (133) and Humboldt (119) placed 1st and 2nd, respectively. Rival Clarion-Goldfield-Dows had 84 points for 4th in Class A.
