EAGLE GROVE, Iowa — The Eagle Grove Community School District is warning local businesses about a suspicious fundraising effort not affiliated with the school. According to a recent post on the district’s official Facebook page, individuals claiming to be from Eagle Grove High School (EGHS) have been emailing businesses, asking for donations in exchange for having their logos placed on mini footballs.
The district emphasized the effort is not legitimate.
“This is NOT a district approved fundraiser and Eagle Grove CSD does not gain financially in any way from this fundraiser,” the district wrote.
The post noted that the unauthorized solicitations have been made via email and that the individuals involved falsely claim to be affiliated with the school.
“If there are any questions, please call us at the administrative office,” the district added.
Businesses are urged to verify any fundraising inquiries directly with school officials before contributing.
