Frank Lester Siemens, the son of Bert J. and June L. (McCarty) Siemens, was born on September 2, 1936, in Belmond, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Renwick, graduating from Renwick High School in 1954. An important part of Frank’s life was farming the Siemens land (some going back to the 1800’s), he began farming with his father in 1953.
Frank served in the United States Army, from 1955 to 1957 and was part of a Top Secret Armed Forces Special Weapons Project. He graduated from several Atomic Energy courses from Sandia Corp in Albuquerque, NM.
On August 23, 1957, Frank was united in marriage with Ellen Glascock in Ohio.
In 1960, Boone Valley Implement was started at the farm.
Frank was a charter member of Park Church of Christ in Goldfield and member of Clarion Church of Christ.
Frank passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the age of 88 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ron Siemens; brothers, Albert, Dr. John, Paul and Roger Siemens; sisters, Phyllis Silver and Maybelle Hebner and grandson, Ryan Roberts.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ellen; daughters, Trish Roberts (Rod) and Karen Provance (Joe); four grandchildren Lindsey Sayers, Brett Roberts (Libby), Jeremy Provance (Olivia) and Brad Provance; five great grandchildren, Jack Sayers, Ryan Sayers, Elizabeth Roberts, Walden Provance and June Roberts; sister-in-law, Ruth Siemens of Goldfield; many nieces and nephews and a special friend of Frank and the family, Monica Forbes.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Clarion Church of Christ. Visitation was on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Renwick.
Memorials may be left to the Renwick Ambulance or Renwick Fire Department or your favorite charity.
