Last week, four of music teacher Karla Tweeten’s classes had the chance to perform in front of their family and loved ones at Robert Blue Middle School.
On Tuesday, the 2nd graders began their show with a rendition of “Hakuna Matata,” “She’ll Be Comin’ Round The Mountain,” and Randy Newman’s “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” They followed it with another Disney classic in “It’s a Small World,” and closed out the concert with “The Best That I Can Be.”

The 3rd graders started out with a rousing version of “I’ve Been Working On The Railroad” and later sang the classic earworm “John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.”
A few days later, the kindergarteners and 1st graders would have their time in the spotlight.
On Thursday, the kindergarten performance was highlighted by a performance of the traditional American song “The Old Gray Cat.” The group closed the show with “Mickey Mouse March.”
The 1st graders would sing “Mi Cupero,” a Puerto Rican folk song and “Let’s Go Driving” by Jeff Moss before ending the night with “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah.”
As always, Mrs. Erdman’s art classes were responsible for the artwork in the auditorium. The Schwakes operated the sound booth so all of the singers’ voices were heard, and a special thank you was given to the administration for their support of music.
