Eagle Grove’s boys and girls golf teams both faced off against Bishop Garrigan and Forest City on May 5 at Bear Creek Golf Course.
Eagle Grove freshman Azlyn Amonson was the meet medalist with a low score of 40 through 9 holes. As a team, ladies scored 184 for 2nd place and a new team record. The Golden Bears won the triangular with a score of 180, and Forest City took 3rd with 201 team points.
Kennedy Thacker tied for 3rd overall after shooting a 44, and senior Piper Willard’s 46 was good enough for 6th. Freshman Salem Willard was the last EGHS scorer and shot a 54 for 11th.
With 173 team points, the boys would finish 3rd to Forest City (144) and Bishop Garrigan (163).
Senior Zach Hogrefe was Eagle Grove’s top finisher with a 38 for 6th place, and freshman Grayson Chamberlin had a 43 for 9th.
Brett Ascherl (13th/44), Syrus Willard (16th/48), Jayden Grandgeorge (17th/55), and Andrew Robinson (18th/56) also represented the purple and gold.
