Eagle Grove High School has a new Activities Director and Student Success Coordinator!  Former AD Radney Roosa has been hired as the new EGHS principal for the 2025-26 school year, and longtime teacher and coach Ben Demuth has chosen to step out of the classroom and into an administrative role as AD.

“It is a bit surreal,” Demuth said in a recent interview.  “I never thought I would leave the classroom before retirement.  However, with the promotion of Mr. Roosa, I felt the time was right to take on a new challenge.  I am excited to be more involved in athletics as I have coached for 25-plus years in football, track, wrestling, and cross country.”

The beloved social studies teacher had also been boys cross country and track and field head coach for the past decade plus.  Demuth says he will continue coaching track in the spring, but Ryan Terwilliger is expected to become the new cross country coach.

In closing, Demuth expressed that he’s also looking forward to connecting with Eagle Grove students as the school’s Student Success Coordinator.

“I am excited to work with students in a variety of capacities beyond the classroom setting,” he added.  “I hope that my ability to form strong relationships with students will allow me to work closely with students who may need some gentle encouragement to have success in academics as they navigate high school.”
