The Eagle Grove softball team led visiting North Union for most of their matchup last Wednesday, but the conference leading Warriors got the last laugh after scoring seven in the 6th inning.

In the 2nd inning, Myah Edwards reached first on a bunt and promptly stole second and third.  An RBI single from Ellie Lenning brought Edwards home, and the Eagles later scored on a passed ball and an error.

It was three up and three down in the 3rd for Mya Morgan, who finished the contest with three K’s and a walk.

The Eagles loaded the bases for Brenna Grandgeorge with two outs in the bottom of the 3rd, and the junior delivered.  Grandgeorge’s two-run double made it 5-0 Eagle Grove and gave the home fans a jolt.

North Union finally got on the board after an errant Eagle Grove throw and an RBI single put the score at 5-2 in the 5th.

The visitors did most of their scoring in a 7-run 6th inning and went on to win, 11-5.  North Union improved to 9-1 with the win.  The Eagles fell to 5-3.

Addy Jeske went 3-for-4 with four steals and an RBI.

Edwards and Chloe Schultz both scored two runs, and Morgan finished 1-for-4 with a single.
