Meet Your 2025 Wright County Fair Queen Candidates

EAGLE GROVE, Iowa — The Wright County Fair is fast approaching, and four young women are preparing to compete for the title of 2024 Wright County Fair Queen.

On July 8, a committee of judges will interview the candidates to evaluate their leadership, community involvement, and personal qualities. The selected Queen and Princess will serve as fair royalty throughout the event, assisting with activities and representing the fair. The Queen will also go on to represent Wright County at the Iowa State Fair Queen competition in August.

In addition to gifts donated by local businesses and a trip to the Iowa State Fair sponsored by the Wright County Fair Board, the 2024 Fair Queen will receive $550 from the Millie Knight Trust Fund.

Here are this year’s Wright County Fair Queen candidates:

Belle Wharton


Belle Wharton recently completed her senior year at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School. She is the daughter of Matthew and Angela Wharton. Belle is actively involved in many activities, including serving as president of the Lake Clovers 4-H club, participating in FFA and Student Council, and teaching a Sunday school class. She also student teaches with Mrs. Carpenter, cheers for her school, and dances at Dance With Me Studio in Belmond. Belle stated that she wants to represent Wright County as Fair Queen because she enjoys meeting new people and spreading positivity and friendliness. She also expressed a desire to help with everything at the fair and interact with the public.

Nicole Menke


Nicole Menke has just completed her sophomore year at Eagle Grove High School. She is the daughter of Kyla and Andrew Menke. Nicole participates in FFA, FCCLA, wrestling, and cross country. She said she hopes to promote the fair’s values of community, agriculture, and family while encouraging others to get involved and help keep the fair tradition strong for future generations.

Lily Pigman


Lily Pigman is a student at Belmond-Klemme Community Schools. She is the daughter of Mandie Pigman and Michael Pigman. Lily is involved in a wide range of activities, including soccer, softball, basketball, basketball cheerleading, volleyball, FFA, National Honor Society, band, jazz band, dance, church youth group, and showing livestock. Lily said she would like to be Fair Queen to promote local events, support youth programs, and help foster pride among her fellow residents.

Janlis Nunez Delgado


Janlis Nunez Delgado recently finished her sophomore year at Eagle Grove High School. She is the daughter of Domingo Nunez Lebron. Janlis is active in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Student Council. She said she would like to be Fair Queen to encourage participation and help make everyone feel connected and welcomed.

The Queen and Princess will be announced following the interviews, and will take part in many of the events during this year’s Wright County Fair.
