The girls would fall to the host Lions, 53-6. 120-pounder Elideth Santiago’s
2nd period fall over Clear Lake’s Shaelyn Ulrich gave the Eagles their lone six points of
the dual.
Against Iowa Falls-Alden, Catherine Orozco (100-pounds) and Morgan Keller
(115) won via forfeit.
Marlee Thompson (110) and Keylyee Collins (125) both had 2nd period pins
against their Cadet opponents. IF-A won the dual, 54-24.

Finally, the Lake Mills Bulldogs would defeat Eagle Grove by a score of 57-12.
125-pounder Mya Gilbert won via forfeit, and Thompson pinned Jasmine
Schwartz to notch her second pin of the day at 110-pounds.
Then on Thursday, the team traveled to Osage High School to compete in the
rescheduled Top of Iowa Conference Tournament.
Orozco would go 2-2 on the day at 100-pounds and placed 4th overall.
Thompson had a semifinal pin over Alexis Kolbet of Osage to earn a spot in
the 1st place match. There, she was pitted against yet another Osage wrestler. This
time, Green Devil Kiersten McRoberts won a major decision, and Thompson took
home 2nd place.
Keller took 5th at 115, and Santiago and Gilbert placed 4th and 5th at 120-
pounds.
Collins had two pins on the day at 125 and earned 4th place.
Baylee Steig was 6th at 135-pounds.
The Eagles placed 6th out of 9 schools with 67 team points.
Osage (281.5), Lake Mills (142.5), and North Butler (87.5) all placed in the
Top-3.
This Friday night, the girls will compete in Denver at their Class 1A, Region 4
State Wrestling Qualifying Meet.
