Conrad council approves development change order

CONRAD- During a brief regular meeting last Thursday night, the Conrad city council approved a change order on the Catherine Farmer housing addition and discussed it further with engineer Luke Wilson as the first new home at the development moves closer to completion.

Wilson reported that only small punch list items remain on the infrastructure side of things, and the change order of $33,285 arose from costs for additional mulching, seeding and fertilizing. He noted that ultimately, they’re still under 60 percent of the total contingency funds for the project. A motion to accept the change order from Con-Struct carried by a 3-0 vote (Lindsay Kuhl and Todd Schnathorst were absent).

Later in the meeting, Wilson also discussed the possibility of a zoning map update through Clapsaddle Garber Associates with an interactive system that would link to the Grundy County Beacon page at a cost of $2,000 for the city. A motion to move forward carried unanimously.

IN OTHER BUSINESS, the council:

·      Set public hearings for February 11 on a budget amendment and a maximum levy rate.

·      Set a budget workshop for January 28 with a focus on capital improvement projects and equipment replacement.

·      Approved a liquor license renewal for Casey’s General Store.
