Sigourney-Keota sophomore Sophie Young is the Athlete of the week for the week of Feb. 17.
Despite her young age, Young was able to lead her S-K teammates at the sub-state bowling tournament held Feb. 17 in Ottumwa.
At the tournament Young was able to bowl a 575 three game series. That not only led her team, but also qualified her for first-ever State bowling tournament.
Prior to the sub-state tournament Young was also able to earn All-conference honors at the conference meet held in Oskaloosa.
The News-Review would like to congratulate Young on qualifying for the State tournament, and also for being named this week’s Athlete of the Week.
