KEOTA – During a special meeting on April 24, the Keota School Board appointed Keota woman Erin McGuire to fill the vacancy left by Jim Tinnes, who passed away on March 25. McGuire and her husband moved to Keota 13 years ago. All four of their children either attended or currently attended the school. McGuire is a stay at home mom who works part time at James Family Greenhouse.
“I volunteered for this position on the School Board because I have been very happy with the direction our school district is going and I want to help continue to move our school forward,” said McGuire. “I want Keota Community School District to give the best education to our students as possible, and I want it to be a great place to come to work and teach…I have been a part of many organizations in Keota and each one has taught me valuable lessons in patience, how to work with the public and how to work with a group for the greater good of the organization…I am very excited to be appointed to the School Board! I have been contemplating running for the past few years and I felt like the time was right for me to take the leap. We have a great group of leaders on the board currently and I’m ready to jump in and help where I can.”
