Dear Editor
Our Richland city council has voted to have the council meeting minutes and any other council business posted in the Sigourney Review newspaper?!? Why would this even be voted on by the council when we have our OWN newspaper IN TOWN? Residents and subscribers out of the area have PAID to have this subscription to keep up with area events and news.
Richland has had a town newspaper printed for 145 years! To take this away from our local paper is an INSULT! The council business should remain in the Richland Plainsman Clarion – NOT the Sigourney Review. Our small-town newspapers have enough trouble staying in business without taking the city council business away from them!
Why would anyone from Sigourney make a proposal to take this away from Richland?
The Richland Plainsman Clarion should go to the next Sigourney council meeting and suggest that Sigourney print their city council minutes in the Plainsman Clarion!
