Sigourney boys finish second at Warrior Relays

WAYLAND – Coming into Tuesday night’s races the Savages had seemed to be able to gain some speed.

That extra boost of speed helped as the Savages finished second overall at the Warrior Relays. They compiled 142.5 points. WACO won their home meet with 157 total points.

The hurdles proved to be a strong point for the Savages once again. Caden Clarahan finished second in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.38. Owen Menke was third and Chase Clarahan was fourth.

Carson Davis won the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.06. He bested teammate Dillon Menke who was second with a time of 1:04.74.

Davis was also second in the high jump after clearing 5-feet-6-inches.

In the 4×400 relay the Savages had a winning time of 3:50.86. Another win was in the shuttle hurdle relay where Sigourney won with a time of 1:05.02, besting WACO who finished second by over a second.

Troy Klett was able to finish second in the 800 meter run. John Berg was fourth in the same event. Klett was able to add a third place finish in the 400 meter dash.

Klett also was able to finish second in the 3,200 meter run with a time of 10:33.37.

Levi Myers was third in the 1,600 meter run. Jordan Anderson finished seventh.

Landon Conrad was third in the long jump. Landon Fisch was fifth overall.

Jayden Thompson was third in the shot put with a throw of 43-feet-1.5-inches. Graham Moore was sixth.

Thompson also finished second in the discus with a throw of 134-feet. Ashton Schwab was sixth.

In the 4×100 relay the Savages placed sixth. They were able to place fourth in the 4×200 relay.

Overall the Savages placed second in the 4×800 relay. The Savages were also second in the distance medley relay.

Carson O’Rourke was fifth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.19. Landon Fisch was seventh in the 200 meter dash. O’Rourke was eighth.

Sigourney was fifth in the sprint medley relay.

The Savages also ran at a meet in Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on April 24, but results from that meet were not available at press time.
