A busy week was quite the successful week for the Keota golf teams.
Although the Eagles missed one meet last week due to a rainout, there was still plenty of action for both the Keota boys and girls golf teams.
The boys golf team started their week on Tuesday when they played in a triangular where the Eagles placed second overall with 179 total strokes. BGM would win the triangular with 162 total strokes.
Porter Cave led the Eagles as he shot a 44 overall to finish fourth in a three-way tie with Beau Burns from BGM and Isaiah Wilson from Montezuma.
Billie Kindred and Brennan McGuire both shot a 46 on the round to tie each other in eighth. Tucker Sprouse and Cooper Strand finished with 48 total strokes to finish 11th. Jake Morris was 16th with a 54.
Later in the week the Eagle boys were back in action as they took down Lynnville-Sully 165-221.
In that competition Brennan McGuire was able to win medalist honors with a 36. Billie Kindred shot a 41. Porter Cave finished with a 43. Jake Morris finished with a 45 and Trucker Sprouse shot a 48. Those five all had the five best scores of the round.
Cooper Strand finished in seventh with a 49.
The girls golf team started their competitions on Tuesday when they took third overall in a tournament hosted by BGM.
The Eagles were third with a 238. BGM won the meet with a 208.
Senior Lainey Swanson was second overall with a 45 on her scorecard. Emily Conger shot a 61 and finished 11th. Kaylee Kindred finished 12th with a 62. Brynn Conrad shot a 71 and placed 15th overall.
On May 1 the Eagles took on Lynnville-Sully. In a close match it was Lynnville-Sully that walked away with the 224-245 victory.
Swanson once again led her team, shooting a 49, which was the medalist score for the entire round. Conrad shot a 60. Conger shot a 67 and Kindred finished with a 69.
The Eagles concluded the week with a match in Marengo where they finished fifth overall with a 523. Iowa Valley won the meet with a 485.
Swanson shot a 97. Kindred finished with 141 strokes. Conger carded 142 strokes and Conrad returned to the clubhouse with 143 total strokes.
