{"id":2867,"date":"2025-12-05T16:30:43","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T16:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/midamerica.news\/sigourney-news-review\/?p=2867"},"modified":"2025-12-05T16:30:43","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T16:30:43","slug":"vickie-flynn-74","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/midamerica.news\/sigourney-news-review\/2025\/12\/05\/vickie-flynn-74\/","title":{"rendered":"Vickie Flynn, 74"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2868 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/midamerica.news\/sigourney-news-review\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2025\/12\/Vickie-Flynn-obit-photo-229x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"229\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/midamerica.news\/sigourney-news-review\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2025\/12\/Vickie-Flynn-obit-photo-229x300.jpg 229w, https:\/\/midamerica.news\/sigourney-news-review\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2025\/12\/Vickie-Flynn-obit-photo.jpg 366w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 229px) 100vw, 229px\" \/>KEOTA\u2014Vickie Flynn, age 74, of Keota, died Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.<br \/>\nVickie was born May 18, 1951, in Washington, Iowa, to Donald \u201cDick\u201d and Yvonne (Myers) Norenberg.\u00a0 She graduated from Keota High School in 1969 and attended Iowa State University for one year.\u00a0 On June 27, 1970, she married Dan Flynn at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota and they were later divorced.\u00a0 Vickie lived in the Keota area and worked at Chase\u2019s Jack and Jill and Malley Hardware, retiring in August of 2024.\u00a0 She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, where she sang in the choir, and the Altar and Rosary Society.\u00a0 Vickie enjoyed her dogs, sewing, gardening and her grandkids.<br \/>\nSurvivors include three sons: Scott (Holly) Flynn of Keota, Matthew (Jenny Hobbs) of Keota and Brett (Brynn Weimer) of Chicago; six grandchildren: Jacob, Thomas, Anna, Lily, Toby and Daniel; two sisters: Connie (Keith) Tuttle of Grimes and Terri (Dennis) Hawkins of Iowa City.\u00a0 She was preceded in death by her parents.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on <span class=\"zm_inLnk\" role=\"button\" data-value=\"2025-12-07 08:00:00\" aria-label=\"Add a task, event, or reminder for Sunday, December 7, 2025\">Sunday, December 7, 2025<\/span>, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota.\u00a0 Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on <span class=\"zm_inLnk\" role=\"button\" data-value=\"2025-12-07 08:00:00\" aria-label=\"Add a task, event, or reminder for Sunday\">Sunday<\/span> at the funeral home.<\/p>\n<p>A memorial fund has been established for the Keokuk County Hospice Foundation or Paws &amp; More Animal Shelter in Washington.\u00a0 Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Vickie and her family.\u00a0 Tributes may be made at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powellfuneralhomes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.powellfuneralhomes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KEOTA\u2014Vickie Flynn, age 74, of Keota, died Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.
