\"\"HARPER\u2014James \u201cJim\u201d Mc Nurlen, age 80, of rural Harper, died peacefully Saturday, December 27, 2025, at his home.
\nJim was born November 29, 1945, in Washington, Iowa, the son of William and Dorothy \u201cEvelyn\u201d (Kleinschmidt) Mc Nurlen and graduated from Keota High School.\u00a0 On April 30, 1967, he married Donna Haugen at the Sigourney United Methodist Church.\u00a0 The couple lived in rural Harper where Jim sold Super Sweet feed and knives for many years.\u00a0 Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, selling knives, raising livestock and spending time with his grandchildren.
\nSurvivors include his wife: Donna of Harper; two sons: Joseph \u201cJoe\u201d Mc Nurlen of Houston, Missouri and Jason \u201cJake\u201d (Sonia) Mc Nurlen of Sigourney; six grandchildren: Chelsea, Brianna (Jon), Justin, Shawn, Preston and Madison; five great grandchildren: Kolby, Liam, Calli, Cordell and Kaier; two brothers: Dick (Janis) Mc Nurlen of Keota and Charlie (Linda) Mc Nurlen of Carlyle, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.\u00a0 He was preceded in death by his parents.<\/p>\n

According to Jim\u2019s wishes, his body will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.\u00a0 There will be a celebration of life at a later date.<\/p>\n

A memorial fund has been established for Lake Belva Deer Park.\u00a0 Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Jim and his family.\u00a0 Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
