Also at the Monday morning meeting, Treasurer Christine Edmundson Long informed the board that the extra title fees put in place by the state legislature last year had already brought in $8,000, compared to the $2,000 fees brought in last year. Edmundson Long mentioned that Louisa County was planning to stop issuing drivers licenses in July, forcing residents to get licenses from other counties; Board member Kevin Weber asked how many licenses in Keokuk County are from outside the county and Edmundson Long stated that 30% were. The board approved a permit for the What Cheer Area Community Club to set off fireworks on the Fourth of July.<\/p>\n<p>The board met with insurance agent Stacy Flynn of Legacy Insurance Group, who would like to take over the county\u2019s ICAP insurance. Flynn stated she would love to work with the county again and that she wanted to keep money in the county and protect it going forward.
