FORT DODGE – The Mid-Iowa Development Association (MIDAS) Council of Governments welcomes their new Executive Director, Kathy Pfiffner, who began work on Sept. 3.
Previously, Ms. Pfiffner served as a Financial Analyst for the US EPA in Washington D.C., Special Projects Coordinator for the USDA Rural Utilities Service in Washington D.C. and Community Programs Director for USDA Rural Development in New Mexico.
Pfiffner is also the President and CEO of a small business located in Waterloo. Pfiffner has a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Northern Iowa and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University.
“I’m excited to return to Iowa and take on this new role,” Pfiffner stated. “Working with and serving local communities has been my passion, and I believe the work that MIDAS Council of Governments does is critical to helping local communities remain sustainable.”
MIDAS Council of Governments is an intergovernmental council established in 1972 to assist local governments and promote regional cooperation in Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Webster and Wright counties.
