Versus the Eagles, it was a bit more of a challenge. That dual started at 160, as Allen won a quick 30-second fall. That set off a chain reaction, as Damien Bjorklund (170) took a forfeit win and Cael Ahrens (182) a win by sticking his man in 2:25. C. Hanson won by a quick 45-second pin to burst the Cowboys to a commanding 24-0 lead.
A fall in favor of the Eagles gave them their first points, which was quickly offset by K. Nelson (285) barely breaking a sweat in scoring the fall in a mere 26 seconds. With the team score at 30-6, the Eagles started a trend as Kaeden Langfitt (106) and Jacob Graham (113) both won by fall in 3:19 and a 4-1 decision, respectively. That tightened the team score to 30-15.
The Cowboys started a run that would lead to the win, as Stein took a 3-1 win followed by Traub winning by a 6-4 score. Falls by Kirstein in 4:45 and R. Hanson in 1:46 made it 48-15, and it was sealed up by Seaba’s pin in 1:02.
Winners in exhibition matches were Ben Oehlert (fall in 1:05), Jackson Beisel (fall in 3:56) and Mack Seaba (fall in 3:50).
The team travels to the Guthrie Center Tournament this Saturday.
