Cowgirl basketball wrap-up: Kinnetz leads in scoring, Harle in rebounds for this year

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls finished the season with a 16-5 overall record, and were 10-4 in NCC play for third place behind champion Clear Lake at 13-1 and Hampton-Dumont/CAL at 11-3. Raven Kinnetz earned a spot on the First Team in All-Conference balloting, with Morgan Middleton making the Third Team.

The team scored 1,128 total points, making 420 of 1,105 shots from the field for 38.0 percent. They hit 194 out of 292 free throws for 66.4 percent, and made 94 out of 306 three-pointers for 30.7 percent. Kinnetz pumped in 347 points on 123 of 304 from the field for an average of 15.8 ppg. Middleton scored 209 points on 88 of 176 shots for an average of 9.1 ppg. Quinn Hansch scored 198 points on 66 of 181 shots for an average of 8.6 ppg. Courtney Harle scored 161 points on 61 of 173 shots for an average of 7.3 ppg. Jadyn Jondle scored 96 points on 41 of 122 shots for an average of 4.2 ppg.

Kendall Lienemann scored 54 points on 23 of 86 shots for an average of 2.5 ppg. Emma Conlon scored 26 points on six of 26 shots for an average of 1.4 ppg. Lexie Lane scored 17 points on five of 13 shots for an average of 1.5 ppg. Emma Keller scored nine points on three of 12 shots for an average of 0.8 ppg. Alaina Friesleben scored eight points on three of eight shots for an average of 0.7 ppg. Nicole Waters scored three points out of four three-point attempts for an average of 0.4 ppg.

Ranked by field goal percentage, regardless of minutes played or points scored, the order would be: Middleton 50.0 percent; Kinnetz 40.5 percent; Lane 38.5 percent; Friesleben 37.5 percent; Hansch 36.5 percent; Harle 35.3 percent; Jondle 33.6 percent; Lienemann 26.7 percent; Keller 25.0 percent and Waters 25.0 percent.

In three-pointers, Hansch bombed away for 51 buckets out of 142 attempts while Kinnetz was the only other shooter in double figures at 29 out of 102 shots from behind the arc. Ranked by percentage, regardless of minutes played or points scored, the order would be: Lane 66.7 percent; Conlon 40.0 percent; Hansch 35.9 percent; Harle 33.3 percent; Kinnetz 28.4 percent; Waters 25.0 percent; Jondle 23.1 percent and Lienemann 10.5 percent.

From the free throw line, it was Kinnetz sinking 72 of 87 shots with Harle next at 38 out of 63. Middleton made 33 of 58, Hansch 15 of 21 and Conlon 12 of 19. Ranked by free throw percentage, regardless of minutes played or points scored, the order would be: Lienemann 85.7 percent; Kinnetz 82.8 percent; Hansch 71.4 percent; Conlon 63.2 percent; Harle 60.3 percent; Middleton 56.9 percent; Jondle 50.0 percent; Lane 50.0 percent; Keller 50.0 percent and Friesleben 40.0 percent.

The team had 671 total rebounds, of which 428 were defensive and 243 on the offensive side. Ranked by total rebounds, the order would be: Harle 151; Middleton 149; Kinnetz 104; Jondle 91; Lienemann 59; Hansch 53; Conlon 23; Friesleben 22; Keller 10; Lane six and Waters three. Ranked by defensive rebounds only, the order would be: Middleton 94; Harle 76; Kinnetz 73; Jondle 66; Lienemann 40; Hansch 39; Friesleben 15; Conlon 12; Lane six; Keller four and Waters three. Ranked by offensive rebounds only, the order would be: Harle 75; Middleton 55; Kinnetz 31; Jondle 25; Lienemann 19; Hansch 14; Conlon 11; Friesleben seven and Keller six.

The top 11 in assists were: Kinnetz 55, Jondle 54, Lienemann 47, Harle 39, Middleton 24; Hansch 19, Conlon 12, Lane three, Friesleben and Keller two each and Waters one.

The top 11 in steals were: Kinnetz 90, Harle 62, Jondle 48, Hansch 38, Middleton 24, Lienemann 18, Conlon eight, Lane seven, Keller four and both Friesleben and Waters two each.

In conference games only, the team was ranked fourth in offense at 47.8 ppg scored and third in defense at 42.8 ppg allowed. They were third in field goal shooting at 39.4 percent, first in free throw shooting at 71.0 percent and fourth in three-point shooting at 30.3 percent.

Individually, Kinnetz was third in scoring at 220 points and a 15.7 ppg average. Middleton was 11th at 9.6 ppg and Hansch 17th at 8.1 ppg. McKinney of Webster City led at 17.0 ppg. Middleton led the league in field goals at 58.0 percent, while Kinnetz was second in free throw shooting at 83.3 percent and trailed only Buscher of Algona at 86.7 percent. Hansch and Conlon tied for eighth at 73.3 percent each, while Middleton tied for 13th at 66.7 percent and Harle was 20th at 62.5 percent. Hansch finished 13th in three-pointers at 35.0 percent, with Kinnetz 20th at 29.5 percent. Etherington of Algona topped the list at 52.0 percent.

Harle was eighth in the league in rebounding at 79 total and a 6.1 rpg average. Middleton was right behind at ninth with 84 and a 6.0 average, with Kinnetz 13th at 4.5 and Jondle 19th at 3.64. Wibholm of IF-A led at 131 total and 10.1 rpg. Jondle was seventh in assists with 34, followed by Harle 11th at 2.15 average, Kinnetz tied for 15th at 2.07 average and Lienemann 17th at 2.0 average. Faber of Clear Lake led the way at a 3.9 average.

Kinnetz was third in steals at 55 total and a 3.93 average. Harle was eighth at 2.7, Jondle 11th at 2.1 and Hansch 19th at 1.57. Hajek of Humboldt led at 61 total and a 4.4 average. Vanderploeg of Clear Lake led in blocks at 34 total and a 2.4 average, with Middleton tied for seventh at nine and a 0.64 average and Lienemann tied for 19th at three and a 0.21 average.
