Lake Cornelia celebrates the Fourth!

Despite events being a little different this year, the Lake Cornelia Fourth of July celebration was still a big hit. The weather was hot, dry and sunny all weekend which brought plenty of people to the lake for the fun.

Friday evening, the festive fireworks show could be seen reflecting on the glassy lake. 4 G’s Pyrotechnics again put on an impressive show. People watched from docks, the beach, and from their boats on the lake.

On Saturday, the boat parade was held. This year’s theme was “TV Shows from the Past.” First place in the pontoon division went to the M*A*S*H float, put together by the Marshall family.

Second place in the pontoon division went to the Muppets Show float, entered by the Ridenours.

In the boat division, the Koenig family encouraged spectators to “buy a vowel” with their Wheel of Fortune float. They took first place.

Second place in the boat division went to Mark Mast/Adair family with the Flintstone “car.”
