Evan Ray Beachy, 50, of Urbandale, formerly of Clarion, passed away on
August 28, 2020, with family at his side at Mercy hospital in Des Moines,
IA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19th, at 5:00 PM
at Saylorville Lake Visitors Center in Johnston, IA.
Evan was born on January 28th, 1970 in Washington, Iowa, to Ernie and Jeanie
Beachy. He was the youngest brother of four children; Marty (Lisa) of
Tullahoma, Tennessee, Vern (Julie) of Carroll, Iowa, and Darren (Dede) of
Chilton, Wisconsin. He is survived by his son Matt Covington and daughter
Megan Petit of Ankeny, Iowa.
Evan joined the Navy at the age of 18 and honorably discharged when he was
26. He received an Associate's degree in graphic design at Brown University
in Minneapolis, MN. He worked at Competitive Edge in Urbandale, IA. His
favorite things to do included traveling, painting, playing with his cats,
spending time with his family, and playing his guitar.
Memorials for Evan Beachy can be made to his family for later distribution.
