Scholten visits Wright County

Democratic District 4 U.S. House candidate J.D. Scholten made several stops in Wright County last week during his 375 town tour. Throughout Friday and Saturday, Scholten stopped at the museum in Belmond in addition to the First Lutheran Food Pantry and Farmers Market in Clarion. Pictured, he briefly visited the Iowa River Players Theater in Rowan Friday evening. Scholten, who is running against Republican Randy Feenstra, mostly talked about the history of the theater with director Luanne Krabbe (right) and a few others present. He also discussed various points in his platform, mostly pertaining to agriculture. He noted that he regularly talks to farmers who struggle to make the cost of production. Scholten reiterated that is why a major issue for him is enforcing and updating antitrust laws in ag and taking away power from multinational corporations. Photo by Bridget Shileny
