Cowboys still searching for a win

The Pocahontas Area Indians came to town last Friday and went on the warpath in carving out a 42-7 win which leaves the Cowboys scratching their heads and searching for answers as they still look for a first victory of this season. Their lone score came on a 10-yard run by Cale Kirstein. Artemio Gonzalez tacked on the extra point, and the Cowboys were able to avoid a shutout.

Shane Conlon finished at 7 of 21 through the air for 64 yards with one pick. Foss rushed for 36 total yards on 12 carries, with Conlon keeping the ball for 10 total yards and Trenton Jergenson added a two yard run. Coady Olson caught four passes for 39 total yards (9.8 average), with Jaxon Carpenter catching two balls for 14 total yards and Mateo Martinez one for 11 yards.

Gonzalez kicked off twice for a 40.5-yard average, while Kain nelson booted three punts for a 38.7-yard average. Foss returned five kicks for a 19.8-yard average, with Martinez having a pretty 40-yard return and Kirstein a nine-yard run back. Final tackle numbers were not yet posted at presstime.
